Gixer Tablet Uses

Gixer tablet belongs to a class of drugs known as antihistamine (anti-allergic). It is primarily used to treat allergic conditions, such as:

1. Allergic Rhinitis: Gixer tablet is commonly used to relieve the symptoms of allergic rhinitis, also known as hay fever. It helps reduce nasal congestion, sneezing, itching, and runny nose caused by allergic reactions to substances such as pollen, dust mites, pet dander, or molds.

Gixer has a few contraindications, which means there are circumstances or medical conditions in which its use is not recommended.

• Hypersensitivity: Gixer is contraindicated in individuals who have a known hypersensitivity or allergy to Gixer or any of its components. If an allergic reaction occurs after taking Gixer, such as rash, itching, or difficulty breathing, medical attention should be sought immediately.
• Severe renal impairment: Gixer dosage adjustment is necessary in individuals with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 10 mL/min). It is generally not recommended in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) who are undergoing hemodialysis.
• Children under 2 years of age: Gixer is not recommended for use in children under the age of 2 years. For children in this age group, alternative medications or treatment options should be considered.

Gixer Dose for Adults and Children 6 years of age and older:

• One Tablet of 10mg, once daily.

• 2.5 to 5 mg (½ to 1 teaspoon of Gixer syrup) once daily.
• Gixer Syrup is often preferred for younger children.

Gixer selectively binds to and blocks histamine H1 receptors. These receptors are located on various cells throughout the body, including those in the respiratory tract, blood vessels, and skin.
