Individuals with phenylketonuria, a rare genetic disorder that affects the metabolism of phenylalanine, should be cautious and consult with their healthcare provider before using Myteka products containing aspartame.

For those 15 years old or older, a 10mg tablet is usually prescribed.

For children aged 6 to 14 years old, the recommended dose is 5mg tablet per day.

Myteka works quickly but may take up to several weeks before full effects are seen; therefore, it must be used consistently for the best results.

How Myteka Works?

Myteka is an oral leukotriene receptor antagonist, that works by binding to cysteinyl leukotriene (cysLT) receptors on cells located throughout the body, particularly within respiratory tissues, preventing cysLTs from binding to them and triggering an inflammatory response. This prevents bronchoconstriction and other symptoms that are associated with asthma or allergies.

Myteka also helps reduce airway inflammation by decreasing specific pro-inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and cytokines which can contribute to worsening symptoms over time if left untreated.
