Zeegap capsule is an anticonvulsant medication that is used to treat certain neurological and psychiatric conditions. It is Primarily used to treat a variety of conditions, including epilepsy, nerve pain, and anxiety disorders. Following are some common uses of Zeegap Capsules:

1. Neuropathic Pain: Zeegap is commonly used to manage pain associated with conditions such as diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage due to diabetes), postherpetic neuralgia (nerve pain following shingles), and peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage in the hands and feet).

Zeegap Capsules : 25mg, 50mg, 75mg, 100mg, and 150mg strengths

While Zeegap can be beneficial for many people who suffer from these conditions, there are some possible contraindications, therefore, the following people should not use Zeegap Capsules:

Zeegap Capsule Dose for Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy:

• One Capsule of 50mg 2 to 3 times a day, according to the need can be increased to 150-300mg/day in 2 divided doses.

Zeegap Capsule Dose for Neuropathic Pain:

• One Capsule of 75mg times a day.

Zeegap Capsule Dose for General Anxiety Disorder:

• Two Capsules of 150mg once or twice a day.

Zeegap Capsule Dose for Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS):

• 2 to 3 Capsules of 150mg per day.

Zeegap Capsule Dose for Partial Seizure (Adjunctive therapy):

• One Capsule of 50mg 2– to 3 times a day, according to need, can be increased to one Capsule of 150mg 2 times a day.

Zeegap Capsule Maximum Daily Dose: Four Capsules of 150mg (total of 600mg).

Zeegap capsules should not suddenly quit either, it should gradually taper off over a minimum time of one week.

The main mechanism of action for Zeegap is to reduce neuronal excitability by binding to voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system (CNS). This results in decreased release of neurotransmitters like glutamate and substance P that are involved in pain pathways.
