Freehale Tablet Uses

Freehale tablet is primarily used for the treatment and management of asthma and allergic rhinitis (hay fever). It belongs to a class of medications known as leukotriene modifiers. Freehale tablets are commonly used for the following indications:

1. Asthma: Freehale tablet is used as a maintenance treatment for asthma, including chronic asthma. It helps to reduce inflammation and constriction of the airways, making breathing easier and preventing asthma symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness.
2. Allergic Rhinitis: Freehale tablet is also used for the treatment of allergic rhinitis, including seasonal allergies (hay fever) and perennial allergies. It helps alleviate symptoms such as sneezing, nasal congestion, runny nose, and itching associated with allergic rhinitis.

1. Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE): It is an allergic condition characterized by inflammation of the esophagus. Freehale tablet has been used off-label as part of the treatment regimen for EoE.
2. Allergic Dermatitis: Freehale tablets may be used for the treatment of allergic dermatitis or atopic dermatitis, a chronic inflammatory skin condition characterized by itching, redness, and rash.

Freehale Sachets : 4mg

Freehale includes hypersensitivity or an allergy to any of the ingredients in the drug, active liver disease, or pregnancy. Additionally, Freehale should not be taken in combination with certain other medications such as anticoagulant drugs like warfarin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). As always, patients should consult their doctor before starting any new medications.

The standard dosage for Freehale depends on whether it is being used as a preventive measure or an acute treatment.

For preventive use, adults have typically prescribed 10mg taken orally once per day in the evening.

For acute treatment, adults may be prescribed 20mg taken orally twice a day during symptom flare-ups or when they anticipate an attack may occur.

Children ages 6 years and older are usually prescribed 4mg tablets taken once daily in the evening for prevention and 4 – 5mg tablets taken twice daily during symptom flare-ups or when they anticipate an attack may occur depending on their weight.

Freehale is related to its ability to block specific chemicals involved in inflammation called leukotrienes from binding with receptors on cells throughout the body. This reduces both inflammation and bronchoconstriction (constriction of airways) which improves symptoms associated with respiratory conditions such as asthma and allergies.
