Duphaston Tablet Uses

Duphaston is a synthetic progestin hormone that is used to treat hormone-related gynecological and reproductive health issues. It helps to restore the levels of hormones in the body to normal levels that are essential for normal menstrual cycles and pregnancy. Common Uses of Duphaston Tablet

1. Menstrual Disorders: Duphaston tablet is often used to treat irregular menstrual cycles, including conditions like irregular periods, heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia), and painful periods (dysmenorrhea).
2. Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding (DUB): DUB refers to abnormal uterine bleeding that is not due to an identifiable structural or organic cause. Duphaston tablets may be used to regulate menstrual cycles in cases of DUB.

Duphaston Tablet : 10mg strength

Duphaston is generally considered safe when used as directed. However, there are certain contraindications, or situations where the medication should not be used, to prevent potential health risks.

• Known or suspected progestogen-dependent neoplasms: Duphaston is contraindicated in individuals with a known or suspected history of progestogen-dependent tumors, such as meningioma, a type of brain tumor.
• Undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding: Duphaston should not be used if the cause of vaginal bleeding is not clearly identified. It is crucial to determine the underlying cause of bleeding before initiating treatment with Duphaston.
• Existing or history of serious liver disorders: Duphaston is contraindicated in individuals with severe liver impairment or a history of serious liver problems. The medication can further worsen liver function in these individuals.
• Lactation: Duphaston is not recommended for use during breastfeeding. It is unclear whether the medication passes into breast milk and could affect the nursing infant.
• Known hypersensitivity: Duphaston is contraindicated in individuals with a known allergy or hypersensitivity to Dydrogesterone or any of the inactive ingredients in the tablet formulation.

Duphaston Tablet Dose for Menstrual Disorders (Dysmenorrhea, Menorrhagia):

• 1 – 2 tablets of 10mg, once daily.
• From the 11th to the 25th day of the menstrual cycle.

Duphaston Tablet Dose for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding:

• 1 – 3 tablets of 10mg, daily.
• From day 5 to 25 of the cycle, or continuously.

Duphaston Tablet Dose for Endometriosis:

• 1 to 3 tablets of 10mg, daily.
• From day 5 to 25 of the cycle or continuously (as prescribed by the doctor).

Duphaston Tablet Dose for Infertility as a result of corpus luteum insufficiency:

• 1 tablet of 10mg, daily.
• From the 14th to the 25th day of the cycle.

Duphaston Tablet Dose for Pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS):

• 1 tablet of 10mg, daily.
• From day 11 to day 26 of the cycle.
