Ponstan Tablet Uses

Ponstan tablet is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, used to reduce pain and inflammation caused by arthritis, and muscular or rheumatic disorders. It is an over-the-counter (OTC) medicine widely used to relieve symptoms of inflammations, such as swelling and redness. Following are some common and off-label uses of Ponstan Forte Tablet:

Common Uses of Ponstan Foret Tablet Uses

1. Pain Relief: Ponstan tablet is used to alleviate mild to moderate pain. This includes conditions such as headache, dental pain, musculoskeletal pain (e.g., back pain, joint pain), and menstrual pain.

Ponstan Tablet : 250mg strength.

Ponstan Forte Tablet : 500mg strength.

Ponstan provides effective relief from mild-to-moderate pain, but must be taken carefully due to potential interactions and possible side effects, especially among those patients who are suffering from the following conditions:

It is important to tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before taking Ponstan since it could have an impact on your baby’s health if taken during pregnancy or while breastfeeding; however, there are no studies showing that it poses a significant risk during these times, so your doctor will consider this when deciding whether it is appropriate for you to take it.

Patients who have kidney problems should avoid taking Ponstan since this medication can worsen kidney function in some cases due to its ability to increase salt retention in the body; if you have any existing kidney problems, please consult with your doctor first before taking this medication even at low doses over long periods of time (more than two weeks).

Patients who are already on diuretics (water pills) should not take Ponstan acid since both medications can increase salt content in the body leading to dehydration which can be dangerous in some cases; discuss with your doctor any medications that you are currently taking before starting treatment with Ponstan.

Patients who suffer from liver disease should not take this medication because long-term use has been linked with an increased risk for liver damage, so again please check with your doctor first if you fall into this group before starting treatment with Ponstan.

Ponstan Dose for Adults:

• 250mg – 500mg (1 tablet Ponstan to 1 tablet Ponstan forte) three times a day.

Ponstan is NOT recommended for children under the age of 12 years.

Ponstan is a cyclo-oxygenase (Cox-1 and -2) inhibitor and works by blocking the production of certain chemicals (intracellular prostaglandins) in the body that cause inflammation and pain.
