Who Should Not Use Sert?

Sert has certain contraindications, and its use should be avoided in the following situations:

Hypersensitivity or allergy: Sert should not be used in individuals who have a known hypersensitivity or allergy to Sert or any of its components. Allergic reactions can range from mild skin rashes to severe anaphylaxis.

Concurrent use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs): Sert should not be taken within 14 days before or after the use of MAOIs. The combination of Sert and MAOIs can lead to a potentially life-threatening condition known as serotonin syndrome, characterized by symptoms such as agitation, hallucinations, rapid heartbeat, increased body temperature, and elevated blood pressure.
