Common Uses Of Rigix Tablet

1. Allergic Rhinitis: Rigix tablet is used to relieve the symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, also known as hay fever. These symptoms include sneezing, runny or itchy nose, and itchy or watery eyes.
2. Urticaria: Rigix tablet is used to treat the symptoms of urticaria, also known as hives. Urticaria is a skin condition characterized by the sudden appearance of itchy, raised, and red welts on the skin.
3. Allergic Conjunctivitis: Rigix tablets can be used to relieve the symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis, a condition where the lining of the eyes becomes inflamed due to an allergic reaction. Symptoms include redness, itching, and watering of the eyes.
4. Atopic Dermatitis: Rigix tablets may be used as an adjunct treatment for atopic dermatitis, a chronic inflammatory skin condition that causes itching, scaling, and redness of the skin.

3. Allergic Reactions to Medications: Rigix tablet may be used to help manage mild allergic reactions to medications.
4. Dermatographism (Skin Writing): Some individuals with dermatographism, a condition where lightly scratching the skin causes it to become raised and red, may find relief with Rigix tablets.
5. Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis): Rigix tablet may be used in some cases to help manage itching associated with eczema, although it is not a primary treatment for this condition.

Rigix Tablet : 10mg strength

Rigix Syrup : 5mg/5ml strength

• First and foremost, Rigix should not be used by those who have a known allergy or sensitivity to the drug itself or any of its ingredients.
• Additionally, it should not be used in children under two years old without consulting their pediatrician first.
• Individuals with severe kidney disease may need to avoid this medication as well due to its comparatively high levels of potassium compared with other antihistamines on the market.
• If you are taking medications that may interact negatively with Rigix (such as antacids containing calcium or magnesium) you should discuss alternatives with your healthcare provider before beginning treatment.
• Pregnant and breastfeeding women should always speak with their doctor prior to taking any new medications, including Rigix. Studies indicate that this medication can cross the placenta and potentially cause side effects in babies exposed during pregnancy. Therefore, it is best for pregnant women to find safer alternatives when possible.

Rigix Tablet Dose for Allergic Rhinitis (Hay Fever):

• For Adults and Children (over 12 years old): One tablet of 10mg taken once daily.

Rigix Tablet Dose for Chronic Urticaria (Hives):

• For Adults and Children (over 12 years old): One tablet of 10mg taken once daily.
• Children (Ages 6-12):  5mg (half of a 10 mg tablet) taken once daily.
• Children (Ages 2-6): 2.5mg (2.5ml or half teaspoon of Rigix Oral Solution) once daily.

It is important that you take Rigix exactly as prescribed by your doctor or instructed on the label packaging. The dosage should not be more than what has been prescribed unless advised by your healthcare provider.

In addition, Rigix tablets should be used with food or milk to prevent stomach upset if needed. When taking the liquid form, however, this precaution does not apply due to its formulation helping minimize stomach irritation associated with taking oral medication on an empty stomach.

Rigix is in a class of medications called antihistamines. It works by blocking the action of an allergic substance (histamine) in the body, that causes allergic symptoms.
