Relispa should not be taken if a patient has any known allergies or hypersensitivity to the ingredient present in this medication. It should also be avoided in cases where a patient has a history of cardiovascular problems, renal impairment, or severe hepatic impairment as it may worsen these conditions. This medication should also not be taken by pregnant women and nursing mothers due to the lack of data on its effects on unborn children or infants respectively. Relispa also should not be given to children under 12 years old unless prescribed by a doctor.

The recommended dosage for adults varies depending on the condition being treated and should be determined by a doctor. The usual dose for adults is 80-120 mg taken orally three times daily before meals or 80-160 mg taken every 4-6 hours until symptoms improve.
