Off-label Uses of Entox P Tablet

• Using Entox-P tablets can help reduce bloating and flatulence associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or other digestive issues.
• Entox-P tablet is also often used as an anti-inflammatory agent due to its ability to reduce swelling caused by bacteria.
• Entox-P may also help reduce fever symptoms due to its absorbent properties which draw fluid away from inflamed areas of the body.
• Some healthcare providers may consider using Entox P as part of a treatment regimen for functional dyspepsia, a condition characterized by chronic or recurrent pain or discomfort centered in the upper abdomen.
• Entox P tablets may help to reduce the symptoms of GERD, such as heartburn and acid regurgitation. They work by absorbing stomach acid and preventing it from backing up into the esophagus
• Entox P tablets may help to reduce nausea and vomiting associated with morning sickness. They work by absorbing bile and other irritants in the stomach.

In spite of Entox-P’s therapeutic benefits, there are some contraindications associated with using Entox-P for medical purposes.

Known Allergy or Hypersensitivity: Entox-P should not be used in individuals who have a known allergy or hypersensitivity to Entox-P or any of the components of the medication.

Severe Constipation: Entox-P is not recommended for individuals with severe constipation or fecal impaction. It may further reduce bowel movements and worsen these conditions.

Intestinal Obstruction: Entox-P should be avoided in individuals with known or suspected intestinal obstruction, as it may interfere with the passage of stool and worsen the obstruction.

Severe Dehydration: In cases of severe dehydration, the use of Entox-P may not be appropriate as it does not address the underlying cause of dehydration and may delay necessary medical treatment.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: There is limited data available on the safety of Entox-P use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Therefore, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional before using Entox-P in these situations.

Entox-P Dose for Acute Diarrhea:
Adults and children 12 years and older: 1 to 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours, as needed. The maximum daily dose is typically 8 tablets.
Children 6 to 11 years: half or one tablet every 4 to 6 hours as needed, with a maximum daily dose of 4 tablets.
Children under 6 years: The use of Entox-P in children under 6 years of age should be determined by a healthcare professional.

Entox-P Dose for Gastrointestinal Upset and Relief of Gastrointestinal Distress:
Adults and children 12 years and older: 1 to 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours, as needed, with a maximum daily dose of 8 tablets.
However, the dosage may be adjusted based on the severity of symptoms and the individual’s response.

The mechanism of action of Entox-P is twofold:

Entox-P absorbs water to form a hydrated gel that swells up to increase the bulk or decrease intestinal motility. It also binds harmful substances like bacteria or toxins present in the gut lumen. The binding capacity of Entox-P helps to reduce the absorption of these toxins from the gut lumen into the bloodstream. This dual action helps reduce symptoms associated with gastrointestinal issues.
