Despite its wide-ranging effectiveness, there are certain contraindications associated with Cipesta use that should always be taken into consideration before beginning treatment with this drug.

It should not be given to patients who are allergic or have a history of allergies related to similar antibiotics such as penicillin and cephalosporins.

Children Dose: The dose is usually 20 to 40 mg per kg of body weight in 2 divided doses for 1 to 3 weeks. (The dose should not exceed 750mg a day).

For Gonorrhea:

Adults Dose: 250mg once a day.

Cipesta belongs to fluoroquinolone and works against both types of bacteria (Gram-negative and Gram-positive). Cipesta kills the bacteria by inhibiting the DNA gyrase and topoisomerase enzymes. These two enzymes (DNA gyrase and topoisomerase) are responsible for the survival and replication of the bacteria.
